Unitrans (Universal Transfer) is a technology developed by Gilberto Menin for ennobling and decorating fabrics, leather and imitation leather. The technology involves printing a pattern on a special adhesive which is then transferred onto the substrate to be decorated, permitting decoration with solid coloured or patterned coatings. The combination of the design on the adhesive with the design on the coating permits creation of an infinite variety of different final effects. The adhesive used in this technology does not contain solvents, heavy metals or any kind of hazardous substances, so that Unitrans technology meets the strictest health and environment standards.
